Thiemann Family February 2010 Missions Update

This weekend was a blast! Erin and I were finally able to head down and fellowship with the Vincent family and the body at Calvary Chapel Rosarito. We took off from home Sunday morning at about 8 a.m. and arrived at CCR by 10:30a.m. It was an awesome drive with no problems. Erin and I had a couple of new worship CD’s synced on my ipod and had a sweet time  worshiping as we drove. We arrived about half way through 2nd service so we took the opportunity to visit each of the classrooms and take some pictures. It was amazing as we pulled up to the church… we were greeted by parking attendants who helped us find a parking spot, as we walked up to the church we were greeted again by a number of people who were all excited to welcome us and point us in the right direction (we needed to know where the children’s ministry Malachi would be in and where the nursery was).

It was a HUGE blessing for both Erin and I… and Malachi had a blast in the Children’s Ministry. He came out with a beautiful colored picture that he was excited to show off & with a tambourine made out of two paper plates stapled together with beans inside. He also made a new best friend – Daniel Vincent who went to class with Malachi to help translate and care for him. After service we were loading up the car and heading out to lunch with the Vincent’s and Sarah Vincent was loading up her car next to ours and Malachi told me that he wanted to ride in Daniel’s car. That was the first time he didn’t want to be with mom and dad (Erin and I had mixed emotions about it… our little boy is growing up)!

Church service was awesome. Pastor Mike shared an amazing message out of John 5:31-47. It was such a blessing being back at CCR. I know for Erin it was even more exciting having been on the original team that helped start the church and now seeing the church today. In fact, one of the gals that she poured into while she was living in Rosarito, comes up to her and gives her a big hug and says thank you Erin, if it wasn’t for you I wouldn’t be here! God is truly doing great things down in Calvary Chapel Rosarito. Erin also got some sweet time of fellowship with Pastor Jesus’s wife Beny who Erin discipled as a new believer while she lived there. It was truly a great visit for her.

On Monday I was able to go to work with Pastor Mike and teach the staff devotions. It was truly an honor to fellowship with such a great group of people. After devotions, worship, and prayer we ended the staff meeting and I headed with the media staff into the office to start working on getting the Calvary Chapel Rosarito website started. We were able to accomplish a lot in a short time and God’s hand was definitely on everything we did. Please pray that the Lord would give vision to all of us as we continue to put the site together and that everything would continue to run smoothly and we would be able to get a website up and running soon.

As the Director of Saving Grace World Missions I was blessed to be able to get out to the field and work with the missionaries and the people they are serving and helping better equip them all with the tools the Lord has blessed us with. Please pray that I would be able to do this more with all of our ministries all over the world.

On the home front God has continued to do some amazing things. I am in the process of remodeling the SGWM website. This is a huge task and I need a lot of prayer for wisdom and guidance. But God is using sgwm.com in some amazing ways. We average about 530 unique visitors per-day. And we are getting hits and responses from all over the world. The word is getting out! Which is going to bless our missionaries. Praise God.

We have also been able to interview and process a handful of new missionaries over the past couple of months who will be serving all over the world… from S. Korea to Germany, Hungary, Australia and beyond. Please pray that we would continue to be used by the Lord to help send and facilitate missionaries all over the world. Pray for new vision – the famous words of a dying church (or missions organization) “we’ve always done it that way.” Pray for provision for all our missionaries. Please also pray for Erin and I as we are lacking some much needed financial support. We are praying that the Lord would bring in an additional $1000 per month.

Lastly, (and really exciting) my wife Erin will be stepping in to take on the role of SGWM Secretary. She is really blessed as she has a massive heart for missions and for our missionaries. I know that God is going to use her greatly and she is going to be a huge blessing to me also as I need all the help I can get!

Well I want to thank you for taking the time to read our update and thank you for all your prayers, love and support.

God Bless,
Mike
