Kanyike Family February 2010 Missions Update-Uganda
Calvary Chapel Bible College is back in session. Last semester we took a hiatus to restructure the classes and administration of the College and now we are expectantly waiting to see how God is going to move. We have a new Administrator, James Masiko. James is a graduate of the Bible College. Mike Neels, a missionary from Canada, who has been a teacher at the college, is taking over the directorship of the College. Another exciting new aspect of the college is that we are starting an extension campus at Calvary Chapel Entebbe. The core classes that are being offered at our campus are also going to be offered in Entebbe. Some of the teachers will teach their classes twice, once in Kampala and once in Entebbe, other classes are being recorded and will be showed on video in Entebbe. We are excited that this opportunity will allow many more to be taught the Word of God and raised up to continue in ministry and the spreading of the Gospel. I am teaching the students in their Koinonia class. This semester we are joining the Koinonia class with the Calvary Chapel Kampala prayer meeting. We will meet for one hour for devotion and discussion and then join the prayer meeting which occurs immediately following the class. My desire is that Koinonia and the prayer meeting will help the students to keep focused on the Lord and their personal relationship with Him throughout the semester as they get caught up in assignments and various trials that will come their way.

At Calvary Chapel Kampala we have various fellowships that take place throughout the week. One of those fellowships is the campus fellowship. This fellowship was originally started by a member of our church who attended Makerere University, the largest University in Uganda. Upon the graduation of the fellowship’s leaders this fellowship has been taken over by a young woman named, Credo. Credo’s vision was to expand the campus ministry to include students from any college. This past month I was invited to share with the women of this fellowship on relationships. I was asked to talk about being single, dating and the preparation for marriage. I talked to the girls about the importance of having a strong relationship with the Lord before entering into a relationship and what the Bible says about courtship and marriage. Afterwards they had so many questions for me. We have talked about having a more detailed conference in the future that will cover more specific topics and that will have teaching for the men in the fellowship as well. Photo: Credo)

We have 2 big praise reports this month. First of all, they caught the thief that organized the robbery of our house at the end of last year. They have not yet caught the accomplices or recovered the stolen items but we are happy that the man behind it is now behind bars. Wes Bentley has been able to go to the prison and share the gospel with him. We pray that though are possessions may be lost that this man’s soul would not remain so.
Our second praise report is that Bob and Suzanne Scott have arrived from the states to assist Brian and I with the running of the FRM guest house. We are so thankful for the assistance they have been able to give us with the day to day activities of the guest house that we can spend more time preparing for our teachings and ministry at the church. Please pray for this new semester at Calvary Chapel Bible College Uganda, for the students, the teachers and the new administration.
Pray for the new extension campus in Entebbe.
Pray for Bob and Suzanne as they adjust to life and ministry in Kampala.
Pray for Jill as she begins to also teach at All Nations Theological Seminary.
We thank you so much for being such a large part of the ministry here in Uganda through your continued prayer and support.

In Him,
Brian and Jill Kanyike
