January 2010 Update

Fighting Destructive Doctrines!

But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction. [2 Pet 2:1]

WE WANT YOU TO SHARE IN OUR JOY! God is doing wonderful and mighty things. He has opened many doors of opportunity for our ministry in Calvary Chapel Pakistan.

This Sunday was very special for us. I was asked to speak at a Presbyterian Church in the Colony of Chicherwali. This colony is the headquarters for Mormons and Jehovah’s Witnesses. We took with us Urdu Bibles that had been requested prior and two apologetics pamphlets from the Institute of Religious Research (http://www.irr.org/). These two pamphlets , “Is Mormonism Christian?” and “Four Dangers of the Jehovah’s Witness Organization,” have been touching people’s hearts and lives in Pakistan and they have brought a revival in every area they have reached!

What a joy to teach at the Presbyterian Church and distribute Urdu Bibles and apologetic s pamphlets from IRR. People were open and blessed by the message shared with them. It was very cold and foggy this morning. The church did not have doors and windows. It was open. The floor was very cold. While sitting there I was shivering, but I was thinking about the people who were sitting on the cold floor for more than one and a half hours.

People had many questions. They told us Mormons attempt to get people to their temples; they tell young people they will send them to America if they join their church and they will be given money and many other facilities. Many of the young educated people will be made Mormon leaders and many who have no jobs are tempted to join such organizations.

People were very thankful to receive the TRUE MESSAGE of the Bible. Special thanks to IRR for permitting us to translate and reproduce their material into Urdu!  (Photo: Sitting on cold floor of Presbyterian Church in Chicherwali to hear the TRUTH.)

Sunday School for Sensra Village & Warfare against Cults

MORE JOYOUS NEWS! After the Sunday service at Chicherwali, my team member Joseph, went to visit the Sunday School at Sensra Village. Joseph was very joyful as he shared the wonderful and encouraging news of children being able to study the Word of God! While there, Joseph was able to distribute booklets from the World Missionary Press (www.wmpress.org). There are many Sunday Schools around us that are now using the WMP materials that we have given them. We give our Lord glory for blessing these children with such wonderful school materials and we are thankful to World Missionary Press for the great support of THOUSANDS of books given to us to distribute—TOTALLY FREE! We are full of praise at God’s goodness!

We want to reach more and more areas. We are encouraged that we have so many requests from even remote villages to come to their areas and teach there. But with the good news, there is also news of great concern. I am always sad to share with you that false teachers and teachings are increasing daily. They are misleading this new generation. We want to reach them with the Truth of the gospel, and to strengthen them in the Word. Our vision is to make this generation strong and pure Christians. We ask you to please pray for this new generation that they be strong in the Truth and not be misled.

Recently a Pastor came to us from Mureedke City. We gave him many World Missionary Press booklets for adults and children. He shared his story through tears, saying that in his area, there is a man who is a self-made bishop. He has made a big wooden cross; he has chosen 12 people and given them the same names as Jesus’ disciples. He acts as Jesus, carries his cross, and does many strange things. His disciples call themselves Holy men in their community. And people are confused.

The Pastor was really very happy to get WMP materials to educate his people, to teach them the truth of the Bible and about falsehood of all strange things people are doing. World Missionary Press books are really helpful and thousands of children and adults are benefiting from them. God’s Word goes into Far Away Places

AND EVEN MORE JOYOUS NEWS! Earlier this month we were able to send 200 Boxes along with thousands of books printed in Pakistan to Karachi city. Karachi is the biggest city of Pakistan. There are hundreds of colonies of Christians there. So many of them are an easy prey for false teachers with heretical doctrines. We have received many phone calls from Karachi and people requesting World Missionary Press booklets as they are a great help.

We are praying for even more scriptural support of WMP booklets as Calvary Chapel of Pakistan is blessed to be very popular in Pakistan for providing World Missionary Press in every region.

Karachi City is the capital of the Sindh province and located on the far southern tip of Pakistan. It is one of the largest cities in the world by population. But, the villages are very backwards.

Many landlords have personal jails where they keep their workers. People are sad, poor and hopeless. The Word of God is going to be taken into those areas to bless the people with grace, love and hope!

Dear brothers and sisters, we thank God for the opportunity to distribute the Word of God to strengthen Christians, but we need your prayers. Please pray for the protection of everyone who is helping us reach in every corner of this country.

Please keep praying for us, stand in the gap for us. We are in a spiritual battle against the cults and there is always risk involved. Pray for us as we serve the Lord on this front line.

God bless you. We love you and pray for you always. (Photo: World Missionary Press materials were sent to a far reaching province where Christian villagers live in persecution and despair.)

Special Tribute

ANNA SIMIC (49) our beloved friend, and the woman God used to lay the foundation of the ministry here in Pakistan went home to be with the Lord early this month. We miss her so much! We thank our Lord for the gracious gift that Anna was to our life for the past five years. She poured out her love upon us, prayed for us, encouraged us and shared with us Godly wisdom. Anna was an American and had never been to Pakistan. She was a very poor woman in this world’s goods, but she gave what she had, a love for God, a love for His Word, and a love for the people of Pakistan.

It was Anna who encouraged us to go to the villages—to minister to those so poor they could not even afford to purchase a Bible. It was Anna who established the“Coins for Urdu Bibles” page on Facebook to raise support for a Bible in Urdu for the villagers. The villages had always been in my heart as well and so we knew this was God’s special calling upon my life. Lord has blessed this work, and Lord has now received our Anna into heaven. She did not count her early life dear, but something to be sacrificed for the work of the Lord. She lived her life by her favorite verse: “However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the gospel of God’s grace.” Acts 20:24

We Praise you Lord for the wonderful gift of our sister and her work on earth. We praise you for the blessed HOPE that we will be reunited with her in heavenly Glory!

I would love to hear from you. I am on Facebook at “Nadeem Massey” or by e-mail at jsm.pak@gmail.com.

Blessings and love in our Lord,
Nadeem
