"My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness"
2 Cor. 12:9
First of all I would like to thank everyone that has continued to keep me in prayer and for all of your love and support.
I hope that everyone has had a very Merry Christmas and that the Lord will bless you in this coming year.
So many exciting things that the Lord has done in the last couple of months! I can't wait to share it all with you!
It was the Lord's will that I return to Arizona at the end of September. I had an amazing time with Alonso's family and helping at the Bible college.
Please continue to keep them in prayer as this time of year is so hard to go through when someone you love isn't there to share it with you. Although I know he's having an amazing time in Heaven!
Upon returning the Lord opened the door for me to be able to work at a charter school here in Bullhead city. I've been helping as an aid in the morning and then as a teacher in the after school program. It's been such a blessing to get to know all of these precious little ones and be able to share the love of Jesus with them as well.
While making Merry CHRISTmas cards I was able to tell them that CHRIST is the reason that we celebrate during this season. I was amazed as 2 out of 3 didn't know why we celebrate Christmas.
They were all very attentive and interested in knowing about the Lord.
"Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, youwill by no means enter the kingdom of heaven...whoever receives one little child like this in my name receives me." Matt. 18:3,5
Caborca, MEXICO!!
As you may know I went on my very first mission trip to this little town. I didn't know any Spanish the first time 10 years ago, but fell in love with the Latino people.
In October I was able to go back. I haven't been in 2 years! It was so great to see everyone.
There has been a small division in the church during the last two years the pastor opened a new church on one side of Caborca and several leaders remainded in the old church on the other side. Both churches are thriving and many are coming to the Lord.
Although I didn't know about the split until arriving the Lord made a way for me to spend time with both fellowships.
I am going back to Caborca Dec 26-Jan 2, 2009. Please pray for safe travel as I am driving to Tucson alone and they are crossing the boarder to bring me across, so I won't have to drive. I'll be bringing clothes and toys for children and I know the Lord will bless this time of sweet fellowship and outreach.
International Language Institute/Instituto Internacional de Idiomas
While in Peru, the Lord used me to open an English as a Second Language school in Lima. It was such a great success that by the end of the year there were 150 students!! Many, many people came to the Lord through this ministry!
Now that I am back in Arizona, the Lord's put on my heart to do the same thing here. I have been teaching ESL for about 5 years now and right next to the charter school where I work during the day there is a small Bilingual church. I went to a service one night and told the pastor about what the Lord had allowed me to do in Peru. He was so excited!
Next to the church, there's a building that isn't being used and they are giving it to me to use as the International Language Institute!! God is so amazing!
This last weekend we had registration and there are now over 50 students!
It is called the International Language Institute because it will not only be offering English classes, but also Spanish and I hope in the future several other languages.
There are about 42 signed up to learn English and 10 to learn Spanish.
Classes will start January 4, 2010. Mon-Fri. 6-9 there are two classes per night.
The school building isn't finished quite yet so we will begin with having the classes in the church, but it should be done by the end of the month.
The classes that I will be teaching are all FREE to the community. It is being done as a missionary outreach. Therefore if the Lord is leading any of you to come alongside this ministry and help with the cost of fixing up the building that would be such a blessing. If anyone would like to be practically involved down at the school the address is 655 Marina Blvd. I can use all the help the Lord sends. :-)
I will try to keep everyone updated more frequently. You are all so precious to me and I thank you for your prayers and support.
