  1. Basketball Court Complete!

    April 29, 2010 by Administrator

With the donations from the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) for a basketball court for Kids Club Ministries, Sam with the help of our neighbor Joszi have completed the pad which is the first phase of this project.  The vision bewgan from a prayer request about three years ago.  Our family saw the benefit of building a basketball court for the youth.  While preparing for the 2009 summer furlough to the States, we were in process of signing our kids up for FCA’s annual summer power camp.  The FCA power camp coordinator, Lisa, contacted us and asked if there was any service project  that FCA could join partnership.  We shared our vision to build a basketball court.  They loved the idea and were excited to organize this project to make our vision a reality!

Men from CCEsztergom fellowship, assisted Sam putting on the final fencing, completing the court!  Great job, men!

Pastor Laci, of Calvary Chapel Esztergom church, shoots the firsts hoops with kids club participant, Angelo.

  2. “Not by might, nor by my power, but my spirit says the Lord!”

AMAZING…that’s the word for the day’s events!  It poured rain all day long in Hungary, but we loaded the van and headed to Slovakia anyway. We had been praying for a miracle all day, and though the clouds were not letting up, we were holding on to hope.

When we arrived at the park where VBS was to be held, the skies opened up; but it wasn’t sun that came down. In a half an hour it rained more than it had all day. By 5:30 we were talking about postponing VBS until next week. After a team member reminded us that the weather should clear around 6pm, we stepped out of our car. It was then that six kids with umbrellas merged upon the van.  They were waiting for us to begin!  As we told them we would do it next week, others came and were  ready to begin despite the rain. With excitement we moved the things out of the back of the van and walked toward the playground area.

In minutes the rain completely stopped and 16 kids now were waiting to get started!  We are completely overjoyed with the miracle the Lord gave. Tonight it came in the form of 28 kids being ministered to under clear skies. And the best part was two of them accepting Christ as their SAVIOR! Thanks for praying!  We were singing in the rain!  Enjoy the first day’s photos!  It truly is a reminder Zech. 4:6 -  “Not by might, nor by my power, but my spirit says the Lord!”
