Filmed in Myanmar by the World Missionary Press crew, this interview shows Nadeem’s story about his conversion and calling into the ministry, and tells of the sacrifices he has made.

I was born in Roman Catholic family of a small village of Pakistan and was brought up in the very village. After completing my schooling in 1996 I joined one Catholic Seminary in Lahore city to become a Catholic priest. I was very much excited to become a priest (Father), but when I joined the seminary I found this to be a strange place, not because of their faith but because of the behaviors of students and priests. I didn’t know anything about protestant church at that time. Majority of the students was with a dream to have a car, good house, authority and money and on the other hand the priests were enjoying all these things along with illegitimate relations and many other things they preached against. I was very much discouraged and my mind was scattered. I left the seminary after three years. The best thing I learnt from this seminary was the English language only.

I was so frustrated from the seminary experience that I quit praying, going to church or talking and even thinking about God. I joined college and after my graduation started doing different jobs. During all this time I have been far away from God. My only aim was to go abroad and make money. I struggled for that but God did not allow. I got married with one of my college fellows Farah and both of us headed towards jobs to get established in Lahore city. My every decision was without the will of God as I wouldn’t allow God to help me decide anything. I always thought that I could make the best decisions and live them. I had to face many hard consequences because of my stubborn-ness, but still I did not think to come to God. I was caught up in my self created problems, life became so tough and I was pushed in a corner totally helpless. I and my wife came back to God, we prayed with tears. We received our HOPE and happiness in Jesus. Lord put on my heart to serve Him in the rural, un-reached and darkened areas and I committed that I will.

Pakistan is an Islamic country. 75% population of Pakistan resides in the villages, and Christians are 1.7% of the total population. In every village there are 6-20 Christian families among 400 or 500 Muslim families. Villages are most neglected for teaching and preaching The Word of God. It seems as if no one has compassion for these souls perishing from generation to generation. No one likes to sacrifice their comfort and share the peace of the Lord with these people. Many times these rural areas are ravaged by roving wolves who make merchandise of the Word of God. There are so many areas of other provinces of Pakistan, like Sindh which I must say are to be discovered yet where people are waiting patiently for someone to reach them with Good News of Jesus. On the other hand the cities of Pakistan are bombarded by every heretic movement. Health, wealth and prosperity teachings, so called healing crusades, Phenomenal practices, Jehovah’s Witness and even Mormonism are misleading everyone in the cities.

God blessed us with wonderful jobs and restored all in our life. When we were doing very well, Lord reminded me of His call and my promise. But it was very hard for me to quit the job, leave the city life and go to the rural areas where Lord was leading me. I was reluctant for one more reason that I did not have any Biblical education from some seminary or Bible College. I had not been interested to learn The Word of God myself, how could I teach other. During this time of confusion and a spiritual battle in our lives, my wife Farah met a lady named Anna Simic from California through internet. She was a Calvary Chapel church member. She was very happy to know us, and our vision. She prayed about us and talked to her friends. In 2005 we organized one small ministry named “Jesus Saves Ministries Pakistan” and started serving Lord Jesus in different villages. Anna and her brother Marc, was supporting our living and mission. One other Godly couple Mrs. & Mrs. James Anderson also joined us from California in ministry as advisers and supporter. They sent me one 8 CDs pack of Pastor Chuck Smith’s teaching (C-2000 Series) and many other books.  These sources really helped me grow in the Lord. Anna introduced me to all of his family members and friends. I was introduced to an Egyptian missionary Samy Tanagho and was asked to translate his book in Urdu language for Pakistanis. I learned very much during translating his wonderful book. Then I was asked by “The Word for Today” to translate Pastor Chuck Smith’s books which really blessed me. This worked served as Training in my life and Lord taught me and prepared me in a wonderful way.

Anna a poor lady though leading a simple and humble life had been supporting us for more than two years. In 2007 most of our support finished as Anna lost her job, and Mr. Anderson also lost his job. We had a very little support for living. Life became very tough; I was being pushed back by devil to the same life with job and self centeredness. Many people criticized and discouraged me saying that my ministry was not from God. And that I was without any degree from any seminary or Bible College. I have no degree but a willing heart. I fell in despair and was planning to pack up to move back in the city and look for a job as my friends were advising and pulling me back. I prayed and pleaded Lord to reveal His Holy will for us. Does He want me to serve him in these rural areas or go back to city saying good bye to this mission? I was very much pressurized from every side as now we had a kid and our living needs increased much more than before.

As we prayed, Lord showed us some wonderful signs. I was blessed with scholarship for studying at Calvary Chapel Online Bible College. Then God opened one great door for tracts and booklet support for our ministry in Urdu language. “World Missionary Press” showed desire to send a huge Pallet of 93000/ books to our ministry. These were amazing and awesome signs and blessings from God confirming His will for me to do the mission. I was encouraged in my spirit and in spite of very much financial pressure we kept hoping and believing that Lord will handle all and manage everything. Our Lord is sovereign and He shall provide all our needs and keep this mission on the go.

During internet search I found the website of “Saving Grace World Mission” and I was very much excited to see that it was a ministry of Calvary Chapel. It was blessing for me to talk to Mr. Mike Thiemann and Pastor Trent Douglass. They encouraged me so much and blessed me to be a part of Saving Grace World Mission. I thank them and give glory to our Heavenly Father. I have compassion to reach every soul and every corner of Pakistan with the Good News of Salvation through “The Shed Blood of Jesus Christ”. I wish and pray for every Pakistani to be blessed with the True Bible Based Teaching. Our visions are Calvary Chapel church planting, Calvary Chapel Bible College and one Christian Printing Press in Pakistan. Glory to our Father in heaven; with whom everything is possible.
