Short Term Mission Trips

A short-term mission’s trip doesn’t change the world but it makes world changers.  This is the vision of Saving Grace World Missions as we embark on short-term missions trips all over the world. Short-term missions trips are a fun and exciting way to get involved in world missions. It is an amazing opportunity to grow and be molded into a closer image of Christ. We take a small group of men and women and disciple them through cross cultural training, servanthood, and many other topics relevant to world missions.  It is in our heart that as we train each short-term mission team and take them to the field that the Lord would work in every team member’s heart and call them to be involved in full time missions in any capacity.

Saving Grace World Missions Short-term missions department plans and organizes several missions trips during the year. If you would like any information about upcoming trips please contact Mike Thiemann.

Do you have a heart for The Sudan,
or feel you are being called as a missionary to reach the unreached people there? Charlie Beyersdorf is praying about a trip into The South Sudan this coming October, 2008 with a small team of up to 6 people. Charlie is praying that the team will consist of a Senior Pastor, teacher, doctor or nurse, and a person with construction skills. This team will be meeting James Nyika to see the work James is doing with the Taposa and Taus people.

Anyone interested in going on this trip or any other trip into The Sudan, can contact Charlie and make plans for a trip for a time that they feel they can go. Charlie can set up a trip at different times of the year for you.

Background
James Nyika is from Southern Sudan, but he had to flee the Sudan to save his own life and his family's lives from the Civil War. James lived in the Kiryandongo Refugee camp in Uganda, and through Saving Grace Refugee Services, went to Grace Bible School there. It was God's Hand that brought James and his family to the same camp that Saving Grace Refugee Services was ministering in. James was quickly raised up to be a national leader through the training he received while at Grace Bible School.

It was through the teaching of the Word that James approached the staff of Saving Grace Refugee Services and said; "God called you Americans to preach the Word in this refugee camp…these people are my people, I speak their language, I know their culture. I can function among them better than you. God is calling me to reach my people with the Gospel….I am ready to go home and preach the Gospel to the peoples of The Sudan."

This was the start of something great. God was fulfilling the vision He gave SGWM to raise up national leaders and send them into their own countries to reach their own people. James and his family has now returned to The Sudan and is working with the unreached tribes.
